● Appeared in 10 games as a freshman.
● Recorded one assist and attempted two shots during rookie season.

Prior to VCU
● Four-year member of the field hockey and lacrosse teams at W.T. Woodson High School
● Helped lead field hockey squad to three Liberty District championships (2005-07).
● Also lifted the Cavaliers to VHSL State quarterfinals in 2006 and 2007, as well as a Northern Region crown in 2007.
● As a junior in 2006, led the Liberty District with 20 goals. Added 23 goals as a senior.
● Named First Team All-District, All-Region and All-State as a senior.
● Selected Washington Examiner Player of the Year in 2008.
● Two-time participant in the USA National Indoor Tournament with Rampage Field Hockey.
● Holds W.T. Woodson school record with 50 career goals.

Getting to Know Meg Thaxton
● Helped W.T. Woodson to a State Lacrosse Championship as a freshman in 2004.
● Chose VCU over Louisville and George Mason.
● High school teammate of fellow VCU Ram Lyndsey Butler.
● Was one of only two sophomores to start for her high school field hockey team in 2005.
● Missed the majority of her senior lacrosse season with a broken arm. Still managed to earn an All-Liberty District citation.
