CAMPOS PICKS UP CAA WEEKLY HONOR

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University’s Rafael Campos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) has been named the Colonial Athletic Association’s Men’s Golfer of the Week after his stunning performance at the Maryland Intercollegiate.
The senior led the Rams to a second place finish at the Maryland Intercollegiate Sept. 12-13 at the River Marsh Golf Club. Campos finished third with a 3-under 210, four strokes off the lead, over 54 holes. He recorded a season-best 68 (-3) during his second round of the tournament. Campos opened play with a round of 72 and scored 70 in the final round.
The Rams shot 284-275-291—850 and fell to team champion North Carolina by a single stroke. North Carolina and VCU were followed by N.C. State (858), Virginia (862) and Kent State (865). CAA schools Old Dominion (8th, 886), Towson (9th, 887) and William & Mary (14th, 905) also participated in the event. |
