GRIFFIN IN THE HUNT AT GOLFWEEK CONFERENCE CHALLENGE

RIVERSIDE, Iowa – Virginia Commonwealth University senior Lanto Griffin (Blacksburg, Va.) is three strokes off the lead heading into the third and final day of the Golfweek Conference Challenge at the Blue Top Ridge Golf Course.

Griffin, the reigning Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Year, fired back-to-back 70s in the opening two rounds and is currently tied for fifth place at 4-under par.

Behind Griffin, VCU was able to rally three spots on Monday and is sitting ninth in the 15-team field. The highly-competitive field consists of 15 conference champions from last spring.

Senior Rafael Campos (Guaynabo, Puerto Rico) carded a 1-under 71 on Monday and is tied for 18th place at 1-over par.

Final round play begins Tuesday at 10 a.m. EST.
