VCU SITS 11TH AFTER TWO ROUND OF NCAA NORTHEAST REGIONAL

GALLOWAY, N.J. – Virginia Commonwealth University slipped one place, to 11th, Friday at the NCAA Northeast Regional at the Galloway National Golf Club.

VCU totaled a 22-over 306 on Friday and sits one stroke behind 10th place Penn State and 12 behind ninth-place Clemson. The top five teams advance to the NCAA Championships May 26-30 in Toledo, Ohio.

Sophomore Mark Jargren (Helsingborg, Sweden) leads the Rams at 11-over. He is tied for 27th overall after carding a 3-over 74 on the Par 71, 7,022-yard course Friday.

Junior Lanto Griffin (Blacksburg, Va.) is tied for 31st after shooting a 77 Friday. He is 11-over for the tournament.

The tournament concludes Saturday with final round play.
