CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Depth proved to be the difference Saturday when Virginia Commonwealth University upset 19th-ranked North Carolina, 4-2, an ITA Indoor Qualifier.

The victory sends the Rams to a meeting with 14th-ranked Michigan Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in Chapel Hill. The winner will earn a berth in the 16-team ITA Indoor Championships Feb. 13-16 at the Midtown Tennis Club in Chicago, Ill.

VCU (7-1) edged UNC for the doubles point when junior Thibaut Charron and sophomore Bobo Delemark held off Andrew Crone and Zach Hunter, 9-8 (6).

The Tarheels fought back with victories on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts, but freshman Benjamin Bouhana sealed the Ram victory when he defeated Crone, 7-6 (3), 6-4 on the No. 3 court.
