DALLAS, Tex. – Freshman Filip Svensson picked up his seventh victory of the season, but Virginia Commonwealth University couldn’t overcome Southern Methodist University in a 5-1 loss Sunday.

VCU falls to 11-8 on the year, while SMU is 12-8.

Svensson cruised to a 6-2, 6-2 win over Bryan Griffin on the No. 6 court to improve to 6-1 this season.

Also for the Rams, senior Emil Lindgren and freshman Benjamin Bouhana (pictured) combined for an 8-5 victory on the No. 1 doubles court.

VCU will complete at six-match road trip when it heads to Williamsburg, Va. on Wednesday, April 1 to meet conference rival William & Mary at 4 p.m.
