RAMS HALT W&M IN CAA CHAMPIONSHIP REMATCH

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University picked up its twelfth win of the season when it defeated William & Mary, 5-2, in a rematch of last year’s Colonial Athletic Association Championship match.
The Rams, defending CAA Champions, improved to 12-8, while the Tribe fell to 13-13.
Sophomore Bobo Delemark and junior Thibaut Charron clinched the doubles point for VCU, 9-7 in the No. 3 slot, defeating Marwan Ramadan and Richard Wardell.
VCU came out strong in singles, claiming the wins at the No. 2, No. 5, and No. 4 postion to give it the team win.
Senior Martin Schulhauser started the charge on the No. 2 court, routing Marwan Ramadan, 6-2, 6-0.
Senior Emil Lindgren secured the team victory on the No. 4 court with a win over Dominic Pagon, 7-5, 6-3. He improves to 13-8 overall and 7-6 in dual matches this year.
VCU returns to action on Friday, April 3 when it hosts the Louisville Cardinals at 10 a.m. at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
