MEN’S TENNIS DROPS 5-1 DECISION TO 14TH-RANKED MICHIGAN

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – Virginia Commonwealth University picked up the doubles point, but was unable to overcome 14th-ranked Michigan in a 5-1 loss Sunday at an ITA Indoor Championship Qualifier.
The Rams fall to 7-2 on the year. Michigan improves to 4-0 and advances to the ITA Indoor Championships Feb. 13-16 in Chicago, Ill.
VCU freshman Benjamin Bouhana and senior Emil Lindgren defeated Jason Jung and Mike Sroczynski, 8-6, on the No. 1 doubles court. The Rams also earned a 8-2 triumph at No. 3 doubles when Martin Shulhauser and Nicolas Vinel topped Drew Daniel and Chris Madden.
The Rams return to action on Wednesday, Feb. 4 when they host Saint Mary’s (Calif.) at the Thalhimer Tennis Center at 2 p.m.
