RICHMOND, Va. – The Virginia Commonwealth University tennis team returned to its winning ways with a 7-0 sweep of Princeton Tuesday at the Thalhimer Tennis Center.
The Rams improved to 6-1 with the victory. Princeton is 0-1.
Senior Martin Schulhauser led the way, overcoming a 7-6 defeat in the first set to rally past Peter Capkovic, 6-7, 6-2, 6-2 on the No. 1 court.
Meanwhile, on the No. 2 singles court, Thibaut Charron improved to 8-3 when he topped Ryan Kim with a dominant, 6-1, 6-1 performance.
In addition, newcomer Nicolas Vinel raised his 2008-09 record to 11-3 with a 6-2, 6-1 rout of Alex Faust at fourth position.
VCU returns to action on Friday, Jan. 30 when it heads to the ITA National Indoor Championships at Chapel Hill, N.C.
