RAMS SWEEP WINTHROP FOR SECOND STRAIGHT WIN

RICHMOND, Va. – Virginia Commonwealth University picked up its second straight win with a 5-0 victory over Winthrop Sunday at Thalhimer Tennis Center.

The Rams improve to 10-4 with the victory, while Winthrop is 3-3.

Junior Thibaut Charron led the way, routing Roy Sichel on the No. 1 court, 6-1, 6-0. Charron improved to 14-4 on the season with the victory.

Meanwhile, freshman Nicolas Vinel earned his team-leading 16th win when he topped Diego Toledo, 6-4, 6-1 on the No. 4 court. Vinel is 16-5 overall, including 7-3 in dual matches.

VCU returns to action on Thursday, March 19 when it heads to the Blue Gray National Invitational in Montgomery, Ala.
