RICHMOND, Va. – Senior Elisa Kuehnel (Dresden, Germany) and junior Ivana Rich (Cumberland, Va.) provided 10 kills a piece to spark Virginia Commonwealth University to a 3-0 (25-16, 25-16, 26-24) victory over James Madison Saturday at the Alltel Pavilion.

VCU has won two straight and seven of nine. The Rams improve to 14-8 overall, as well as 6-2 in the Colonial Athletic Association. VCU remains tied for second place in the CAA with William & Mary, which defeated George Mason, 3-0 Saturday. James Madison is 11-15, and 4-5 in the league.

The Black and Gold hit .286 on the night, while limiting the Dukes to a .109 mark. VCU committed just 12 attack errors in the match.

Sophomore Jessica Ojukwu (Sao Paulo, Brazil) added seven kills, senior Laryssa Goncalves (Curitiba, Brazil) recorded 16 digs and sophomore Mariel Frey (Lititz, Pa.) contributed six kills, four service aces, 11 digs and two blocks for VCU.

Freshman Holly Wall led James Madison with a match-best 17 kills and .324 hitting percentage.

The Rams return to action on Friday, Oct. 31 when it hosts Delaware in a CAA contest at the Alltel Pavilion at 7 p.m.
