CORAL GABLES, Fla. – All-Tournament selection Elisa Kuehnel (Dresden, Germany) had eight kills and hit .316, but was one of few bright spots for Virginia Commonwealth University in a 3-0 (25-19, 25-21, 25-9) loss to Miami (Fla.) Saturday at the Hurricane Invitational at the James Knight Complex.

VCU slips to 3-3 with the loss. The Hurricanes improve to 6-0.

Sophomore Kelsie Clegg (Boise, Idaho) chipped in with five kills and three blocks for the Rams.

Lane Carico had nine kills and hit .444 to lead Miami, which registered a .311 attack percentage for the match.

VCU returns to the courts on Friday, Sept. 12 when it takes on host Virginia at 7 p.m. in day one of the UVA Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.
