LAS CRUCES, N.M. – Sophomores Jessica Ojukwu (Sao Paulo, Brazil) and Kelsie Clegg (Boise, Idaho) combined for 12 kills and 10 blocks in a 3-0 loss Thursday at 25th-ranked New Mexico State University. The Rams have lost three straight to fall to 19-12 on the year. New Mexico State is 24-8 overall. Ojukwu hit .263 with eight kills and four blocks for VCU. Clegg added six blocks for the Rams, who recorded 11 on the night. Additionally, freshman Alyssa Foster (Richmond, Va.) registered 13 digs on the night, a personal best, while junior Ivana Rich (Cumberland, Va.) contributed five blocks. Amber Simpson led the Aggies with 17 kills and a .560 hitting percentage. The Rams conclude their season on Saturday, Nov. 29 when they meet New Mexico at 10 p.m. in Albuquerque, N.M. |
