TIJUANA, Mexico – Virginia Commonwealth University incoming freshman Michala Kvapilova (Liberec, Czech Republic) provided 11 kills and 24 digs for the Czech Republic in a five-set loss to Pool B favorite China Thursday night at the FIVB Women’s Junior World Championship.
Kvapilova, a 6-0 outside hitter, was charged with just one error on the evening as the Czech squad battled back from a 2-1 deficit to force a deciding fifth set.
The Czech Republic and Kvapilova return to action on Saturday, July 18 when it meets Germany at 7 p.m. EST. |
